Brigadier General John Nauseef, USAF (Ret), is an expert in cost, budget, and financial management with over 50 years of experience in government and industry. He successfully served as group vice president for a publicly held services company with accountability for revenue, profit and management ($14M annual sales/200 people); vice president and chief financial officer (CFO) of a small privately held company ($10M annually); and director of financial management and comptroller of Air Force Systems Command (AFSC) and Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) (more than $30B annually). General Nauseef also has experience within major US Air Force (USAF) weapons system program offices as a senior financial manager.

Significant Career Accomplishments

  • Provided AFMC and AFSC financial management and oversight—with budgets exceeding $30B.
  • As comptroller of AFSC, was responsible for evaluating cost estimates for all USAF aeronautical, armament, electronics, missile, and space weapon systems programs and the management of the USAF research, development, test, and evaluation (RDT&E) appropriation.
  • Responsible for research and development, procurement, and operations and support associated with USAF acquisition and support of weapons systems such as the B-1 and B-2, C-5 and C-17, F-15, F-16, F-22, AWACS, JSTARS, space systems, and other systems under development or in mature stages of sustainment.
  • As an industry executive in the private sector, successfully led workforce management, new business development, and community relations for two mid-sized defense firms, generating $7-14M annually.
